JCB Software Chooses IFS for ERP Solution for Scot JCB

JCB has made a significant investment in virtual reality (VR) to enhance its design workflow. This technology is helping JCB to improve the way it designs and delivers its products for customers, from immersive VR design reviews to empowering designers with the power to make changes to a model without having to return to the drawing board.

Scottish plant and machinery specialist Scot JCB jcb software has chosen IFS to implement an ERP solution that will enhance visibility and streamline operational functions across the company’s entire business. The company will transition to an out-of-the box IFS Applications 10 solution alongside a number of associated IFS modules, including IFS Reporter and IFS Business Extension.

Scot JCB has been operating for more than 50 years. The family-owned business is one of the leading JCB dealers and distributers in the UK, with 17 depots based across Scotland and North of England. The company stocks and supplies construction, agricultural and industrial machinery from the world’s best manufacturers, and its Service Team of over 150 factory trained engineers is on hand to provide expert advice, support and training.

The company’s new electric Powerpacks are a great alternative to conventional diesel generators for reducing worksite emissions, noise and running costs. They can also be used to power environmentally-friendly JCB E-Tech electric machinery such as mini excavators, compact telescopic handlers and site dumpers. These new battery powered machines can be charged at a central point off-site, and then taken to the site to power the machine when required. This reduces the reliance on a mains site supply, cutting servicing and maintenance costs and improving efficiency and safety.

With a capacity of 23-104kWh, the electric powerpacks can be recharged off-site in just a few hours and are scalable for increasing or decreasing storage and output depending on requirements. They are also LiveLink enabled, allowing remote monitoring of usage and performance. The system helps to control the amount of energy being consumed and allows operators to shut off output sockets when not in use, reducing waste and saving money.

JCB’s myCHOICE is an innovative real-time software system that helps improve productivity and maximise uptime. The system has a range of features that make it easy to configure machines, while helping ensure they are correctly set up for specific jobs. With myCHOICE, JCB’s three available control modes now include options for transmission and loader functions.

It also includes a diagnostic interface, which can help to quickly and efficiently diagnose faults, as well as check that maintenance standards are being met, and can see whether a machine has been abused. The system can also be used to view and change machine set up data, reset EMShours, edit speed limiters, and flash the ECU with correct data files. It’s a simple, efficient and powerful tool for any JCB operator.
